It’s been about a month since our pop up space opened up at W.W. After 7 long years of construction prolonged by the COVID-19 pandemic, The Water Well boasts an up scale cultural hub for locals and curious tourists alike to gather. The building is situated in a small quieter part of the financial district, minutes away from Queen and Bathurst aka Hipster Central.

At first glance , Water Well looks and feels like a more fine dining version of St.Lawrence Markets food court, with offerings of libations, oysters, and overpriced tacos. Each stall is almost stuck to conformity : cooks wearing the same uniforms , bare walls, and little to no personalities all working to the same corporate playlist that echos through the food hall.

In the center of W.W lies the S.S. Duck, operating on a smaller fleet comprised from OG crew mates as well as a few new pirates from other ships. In an attempt to set ourselves apart from the other uniformed fleets, we decided to decorate the ship with mementos from our collective journeys on sea. Illustrations of unique foods and exotic animals are framed and hung up on the pillars, S.S. Duck bandanas and loot bags dangle from the grated leaky ceiling, and cartoon chef figurines are placed by our small but thoughtful menu. Centered in the heart of W.W, our crew had succeeded in making our little fleet like home.
